Other prominent companies are Indian and Chinese players
IBM ranked number one for the second consecutive year in the Global Outsourcing 100, the annual ranking of outsourcing service providers compiled by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IOAP).
Capgemini came in second (up three spots from its last year's ranking). Other high rankers were HP, Sodexho Alliance and Accenture.
While the U.S. companies dominate the list, three India-based companies — Wipro, Infosys and Tech Mahindra — made it to the top 10. And for the first time, a Chinese company, Neusoft, was listed among the best 25 companies. France also had two players in the highest ranks.
The survey categorizes winners in two: Leaders (established players) and Rising Stars (fast growing companies). Six firms that were rated Rising Stars in last year's survey made it to the Leaders category this year. They include ExlService, HiSoft, KPIT Cummins, Concur Technologies, EPAM Systems and MindTree Consulting.
The survey also recognizes many companies for their innovation: Mastek, HCL Technologies, Hexaware, Syntel and Summit HR Worldwide.
Companies were evaluated on 18 criteria, including revenue, growth, number of employees, skills and training of their workforce, certifications held, track record of the management team, and the quality of customer service. The results show that these 100 firms have growing sales, productivity and employment and demonstrate the continued strength of the fastest-growing segment of the world economy.
