"Solving new and complex problems is just what we do at EPAM"

What inspired you to take your picture?

This image portrays the consistency of sharp edges and straight lines, punctuated by the vibrancy of color. Color is imbued with meaning in and of itself, and when applied to the varied shapes of these books, part of our lives in different angles for centuries, we are connected more meaningfully to the magic of storytelling. Books can tell us beautiful stories, and take us to wonderlands filled with magic and mythical creatures. They break the barriers of our imaginations in a split second, its own straight lines and sharp edges tested, stretched, enriched.

What is your favorite part of your job and why?

I love finding the simplest and most effective solutions for complex and challenging problems. That’s what I do at EPAM every single day. It helps me to push my limits and learn new things. It improves my creativity and drives me to try new things to solve problems.

What was one of your best project experiences this year?

I’ve had quite a few awesome projects this year, but one stands out. I worked as the Development Lead for a global financial services company. It helped me to learn about new technologies while working with an amazing group of dedicated people from around the world. The project was delivered on time, despite my learning curve, proving the power of teamwork again and again. And it just proves what I said before – solving new and complex problems is just what we do at EPAM.

"Work hard, play hard."

What inspired you to take your picture?

I love traveling to new places and exploring interesting landscapes. As someone who has always had an interest in photography, I usually find myself drawn to scenes and objects where the light kind of takes the lead and I think that’s why I really like this one.

What is your favorite part of your job and why?

Doing forward-thinking work for really well-known clients. Getting a lot of variety in projects – one day I might be doing a full responsive website redesign, the next day designing a set-top box interface, and the next I’m designing the new company logo.

What was one of your best project experiences this year?

Getting to work on and lead a brand refresh for a client who gave us almost full control over coming up with a new look and feel, including color palette, typography, content organization, etc. This was also the first fully responsive project I had a chance to work on from start to finish so it was nice to get to set everything up and see it all play out and learn what worked and what didn’t.

"I like the high pace at which we work – it’s a non-stop job with great challenges."

What inspired you to take your picture?

I like a picture to capture the spirit or the mood of where I am. It’s a great way to be able to always revisit that moment.

What is your favorite part of your job and why?

I like the high pace at which we work. It’s a non-stop job with great challenges that require a lot of thought and teamwork. That’s another great thing about working at EPAM: The passion of those I work with every single day.

What was one of your best project experiences this year?

We were recently able to engage with a new client after an 18 month sales cycle through which they had a number of reorganizations.  I was very happy that the constant was that each team on the client side wanted to engage with EPAM. It showed that EPAM is a dependable partner, and that multiple stakeholders in the organization saw how valuable that was.

How would you describe EPAM’s culture?

Entrepreneurial. We’re always looking for surprising solutions in new places – we never settle on a solution “just because.” We examine our recommendations for our clients from all angles before we suggest anything. So much thought goes into our work – and that’s what sets us apart from everyone else.
