Linux Systems Engineer/DevOps

Currently we are looking for a Linux Systems Engineer/DevOps for our Minsk office to make the team even stronger.

EPAM is seeking a customer-oriented, diligent, and proactive application level System Engineer to participate in the project related to automation in the field of Continuous Integration/DevOps. This role presupposes frequent communication with the customer as well as the possibility of business trips that is why we are seeking those candidates who are friendly, easy-going and who can easily find a common language with anybody.

Responsibilities

  • From process prospective:
    • Event Management;
    • Incident Management;
    • Problem Management;
    • Configuration management.
  • From technologies prospective:
    • Operation of the Application farm based on the following technologies: Linux, MySQL (Cluster) or any other database, J2EE Application server (JBOSS, WebLogic, WebSphere), Apache, NG;
    • Monitoring of the Application farm based on the following technologies: Zabbix, Nagios, APM solutions;
    • Troubleshooting of the Application farm based on the following technologies: Logstash + Elastic Search;
    • Integrate the Application farm with external world based on the following technology: REST;
    • Assist with building analytic back-end based on Hadoop, MongoDB.
  • From DevOps / CI side prospective:
    • Automate configuration/release management based on Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Bamboo, Jenkins;
    • Use scripting languages like Ruby, Python;
    • Develop Infrastructure as a code over public/private clouds (AWS, Azure, Rackspace) or server farm converted to a private cloud by means of such products like Cloudify.

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge and experience with Linux platform;
  • Solid theoretical knowledge in computer networks (OSI model, packet switching concepts, IP protocol stack, routing and routable protocols, LAN/CAN/PAN/WAN/SAN networks classification concept and major technologies used in each class);
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Ruby, Python, Bash, Perl);
  • Experience with database management systems (MySQL, etc.);
  • Understanding of virtualization concept, classification of cloud services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS);
  • Problem solving skills, troubleshooting experience (networks/systems/applications);
  • Experience with systems and applications performance tuning;
  • Good command of English: Intermediate level (B1) and higher of speaking and writing;
  • Ability to work both individually and within a team.
