The role will be leading the Delivery for the Insurance industry, overseeing management of projects and together with Business Development/Account Management the client relationship. The Director, Delivery Management will be accountable for driving the delivery management organization, assuring top level project governance and assuring top management awareness, as well as guidance of project organization.
The role will be integrated into an end-to-end approach, collaborating closely with Business Consulting and Design, to deliver best in class solutions to our Insurance Clients. Provide hands-on responsibility for European Insurance delivery;
Drive portfolio of program(s)/project(s) in line with client expectations with regards to scope, right-staffing, timelines, deliverables and quality. Addresses risk and issues through concrete action plans;
Work hand in hand with client’s project and program counterparts;
Take responsibility of specific leads, lead management, and qualification for the bid/financing, staffing, managing the client expectations;
Work very closely with EPAM’s staffing to attract and retain talent, and grow the nearshore delivery team;
Work closely with EPAM’s Business Consulting & Design teams as part of an integrated approach;
Be responsible for maintaining and developing the project governance structure and is an active ambassador of the delivery quality for the setup;
Serve as a point of escalation for the client and EPAM top management;
Manage delivery for strategic accounts and major contribution into company best delivery management practices and processes;
Be responsible for embracing the best engineering delivery practices, from inception until production adoption in the organization;
Assume the leadership on strategic delivery efforts, defining strategies as well as approaches for delivery to the client;
Be fully involved into the approach to generate additional value for the client and taking ownership of potential upsell, as well as new business development;
Provide delivery against agreed scorecard and key performance indicators of utilization, productivity, and quality.
Deep understanding of the insurance domain and associated technology agenda, with a strong exposure to InsureTech innovation (e.g. responsive products, big data, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, etc.);
Expected to have at least 12 years in IT and 8+ years in delivery management;
Proven track record of managing successful delivery of organization of 70-150+ FTEs, or engagements of a similar size, with high business impact;
Significant experience in managing a complete set of activities related to the project delivery in a company such as staffing, client management, delivery and execution;
Advanced competency in landing new business, sustaining development and improving quality;
Demonstrable experience in running multiple delivery streams, assuring proper governance on the top management level;
Hands-on in applying technology and software engineering practices with ability to supervise and suggest competitive technical decisions and assure a winning mix of delivery practices applied on the project;
Business savvy and able to oversee delivery from financial, sourcing, development and business point of view;
Recognized skills in forming vision, coherent approach to delivery across the organization;
Able to dive deep into complex issues of the production delivery, run the root cause analysis, and propose solutions, pushing through all steps necessary to deliver;
Ability to perform at senior level, assuring world-class services are delivered to the client across the board;
Excellent presentation skills, able to impress and influence senior stakeholders;
Able to stand for the team during the hard times, handling escalations, expert in a conflict solving, able to bring very fuzzy ideas and vision to a solid setup;
Able to absorb, consult, coach and own strong delivery setups, resilient to stress;
Leadership that is recognized for integrity, and a strong desire and ability to influence people, as well as achieve the best outcome for business;
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent business experience is preferred;
Strong knowledge of and experience in service- and cloud-based solution architectures and deployments, able to provide technical leadership;
Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of Scrum and Agile practices is essential;
Good knowledge of Continuous Integration and DevOps best practices.
