DevOps Engineer

Currently we are looking for a DevOps Engineer for our Prague office to make the team even stronger.

A long-running project in EPAM systems ODC of one of a global investment bank is looking for DevOps Engineer to work in a distributed DevOps team. Main part of the team is located in Prague. Team performs DevOps function for multiple strategic bank applications targeting risk generation and calculation, transformation, storage and reporting.


  • Investigate issues, troubleshoot, monitor, automate, provide ad hoc configuration and configure management;
  • Continuously integrate and deploy, as well as improve currently used processes and scripts;
  • Coordinate releases: change requests, maintaining release branches, release / rollback instructions and Jiras;
  • Perform constant tight cooperation with Dev/Test teams, as well as communication with customer is a regular part of team’s work.


  • English (minimum B2 speaking/writing);
  • Linux - intermediate;
  • SQL – intermediate/advanced;
  • Automation/Scripting (Bash preferable, other scripting languages possible) – intermediate (+real experience in automation via any available means – “automation-oriented mindset”);
  • Real experience in troubleshooting/root cause analysis;
  • Understanding of what DevOps is as well as desire to work as actual DevOps engineer. We are not looking for a Support Engineer;
  • CI/CD (general principles, main tools like TeamCity, Git, deployment automation tools);
  • Basic knowledge of any programming language (Java ideally);
  • Jira (or any similar bug tracking systems) – experience of usage;
  • Basic knowledge of HDFS, Hadoop.

Nice to have

  • Spark, Hive, Impala, Kafka – intermediate.
