What You’ll Do

  • Develop new features / enhancements, refactor legacy ETL code and fix bugs;
  • This can include, but is not limited to, data mart design/development and Tableau dashboard design/development;
  • Maintain highest levels of development practices including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code (SQL) and ETL pipelines;
  • Own tasks through the entire software development life cycle from concept to release to production including helping to document business requirements, documenting development approach, implementing code changes, testing, gathering approvals and migrating code;
  • Partner with internal teams to define and implement solutions that improve end to end solutions and support experiences identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code (SQL) and ETL pipelines.

What You Have

  • Experience in delivering Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence solutions;
  • Preferably experienced in multiple DW/BI aspects from ETL, Data Access Control, Data quality to Metadata management & data governance:
    • Knowledge of relational vs multidimensional data models and related concepts;
    • Ability to design an architecture of a data storage system from scratch.
  • Strong SQL skills in complex queries and data manipulation a must:
    • Ability to write and maintain complex queries;
    • Ability to analyze and fix query performance issues;
    • Ability to write readable and maintainable code.
  • Experience in developing ETL / building data pipelines with ETL tools or programming languages:
    • Ability to write fault-tolerant data transformation processes;
    • Knowledge of ETL troubleshooting techniques;
    • Ability to design backfill-capable pipelines;
    • Business Intelligence skills.
  • Experience in Pentaho a plus;
  • Python programming, shell scripting, java scripting experience is a plus;
  • Ability to prioritize own tasks and manage project resources and dates;
  • Experience in dashboarding and data visualization is a plus:
    • Ability to create readable and intuitive dashboards;
    • Ability to create drill-down features in reporting tools.
  • Data formats:
    • Familiarity with different data formats (csv, XML, JSON);
    • Ability to manipulate data in different formats (parse/compose).
  • Analytical solutions design:
    • Understanding of different OLAP approaches;
    • Ability to design reliable OLAP solution.
