What You’ll Do

  • Leads UX aspects of responsive-design projects;
  • Leads user research and usability testing activities;
  • Leads the data analysis and development of mental models, personas and journey maps;
  • Serves as UX Lead for new-business activities, presentations and estimates;
  • Collaborates with content strategy leads on hierarchy and taxonomy;
  • Collaborates with creative leads on process, interaction design and flows;
  • Hands on creation of site maps, flows, navigation strategies, wireframe prototypes and annotations;
  • Has strong communication skills with the ability to present research findings and recommendations as well as design work to internal team as well as clients;
  • Delegates work to more junior UX designers as needed/appropriate;
  • Mentors associate-level UX designers;
  • Has a strong portfolio demonstrating an excellent understanding of user-experience;
  • Is committed to gaining new skills and regularly seeking inspiration and ideas;
  • Contributes to team culture by attending events and sharing a POV on user experience-related trends and topics.

What You Have

  • 3-5 years of experience with UX/wireframing software including Sketch, Visio, Omnigraffle, Axure, InDesign or other;
  • Strong ability to lead user research and testing activities and deliverables;
  • Excellent ability to explain complex design decisions to experts and laypeople;
  • Strong understanding of interaction design and usability best practices;
  • Understanding of responsive design;
  • Strong ability to lead UX activities within both agile and waterfall environments;
  • Ability to accurately estimate and delegate work so that it is delivered on time and on budget;
  • Strong understanding of relevant technologies for desktop and mobile;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams;
  • High-level knowledge of visual design and front-end development;
  • Sound business acumen; strategic skills; common sense;
  • Willing to travel (if needed).
